Webmaster & Technical Support Specialist

Glover Park Village is seeking a part-time contractor to help manage our website, database, and services tool and to provide technical support to our staff. This position reports directly to the Glover Park Village President and will require 5-15 hours a week. This position is key to Glover Park Village operations.

Through our volunteer network, Glover Park Village provides services such as home maintenance, gardening, transportation, and social visits which enables our members to age in our community and stay in their homes in the Greater Glover Park area while mitigating the effects of social isolation. We also plan and host free events with members of our greater community such as lectures and cooking classes.

  • Manage our public facing website which should be up to date and error free

  • Manage our Google Drive - keep files organized and make sure the right people have access to documents and folders

  • Be our Google Workspace Admin - managing new email addresses, calendar, passwords, the employee directory, and ensure systems security

  • Support our staff by explaining processes and providing training on the tools we use when needed

  • Help keep our database current by adding new volunteers and members

  • Help the GPV President collect data and create reports

  • Manage our Helpful Village portal

  • Work with the Events, Services, and Volunteer teams to make sure their tools and processes are effective and efficient

  • Act as a backup when needed to our Services Coordinator and Events Coordinator

  • Find ways to improve processes

  • Help with hiring when needed (help writing job descriptions, posting jobs, doing initial interviews, reviewing final contracts)

  • Light admin duties - organize meetings for staff and send invitations

  • Attend weekly management meetings on Mondays at 10am either virtually or in-person

While this position can be done remotely for the most part and it offers a flexible schedule, we have weekly in-person meetings in Glover Park, Washington DC so a local DC resident is preferred. The contractor will provide their own equipment (computer & web cam). Software can be provided on an as needed basis.
